About Toriryouri Shimizu

If you’re wandering around Shibuya and craving a cozy spot that’s all about chicken, Toriryouri Shimizu is the place to check out. Tucked on the 2nd floor of ストリーム at 3 Chome−21−3, this Japanese gem immediately gives off a warm, inviting vibe that feels casual yet refined. From the moment you step in, the aroma of expertly grilled chicken greets you, making it clear that Toriryouri Shimizu knows exactly how to treat poultry with respect. Unlike fast-food joints or delivery-focused spots, this restaurant is strictly dine-in, which actually adds to the experience-you get to sit back, relax, and enjoy the full atmosphere without worrying about takeout or delivery options. The seating is comfortable, the lighting is gentle, and the overall layout encourages conversation, making it a great spot whether you’re catching up with friends or enjoying a solo evening of indulgence.

What really sets Toriryouri Shimizu apart is its menu, which celebrates chicken in all sorts of delicious forms. Each dish is thoughtfully prepared, often paired with flavors that are both traditional and creative. While the chicken takes center stage, the drink selection complements it perfectly. They offer a solid range of alcohol, including beer and wine, which means you can sip on something cold and refreshing while sampling different chicken dishes. It’s a pairing that never feels forced-the drinks genuinely enhance the dining experience rather than just filling a menu. The staff at Toriryouri Shimizu also deserve a shout-out. They’re attentive without being intrusive, making sure your glasses stay topped up and your questions about the menu are answered with enthusiasm. It’s clear that service here is about making guests feel comfortable and well-cared-for, rather than just moving tables quickly.

Whether you’re a local or just visiting Tokyo, this little chicken-focused haven in Shibuya has a charm that’s hard to resist. The combination of expertly cooked food, a thoughtfully curated drink list, and a vibe that encourages lingering makes it a spot you’ll remember long after your meal. Every visit feels like a small treat, and it’s easy to see why people keep coming back for more.

Our waiter was probably the nicest most patient and accommodating we had in Tokyo. He explained the menu, suggested that we each get different sets so that we could try both types. Took care to explain everything he was preparing and what we were going to be eating. We had the bone in fried chicken and shabu with the add on rice at the end. Would recommend everything. English menu is 1:1 with Japanese. No need to Google translate the Japanese menu looking for things.

Gorgeous oyakodon with the block of egg! But i didn't like the herbs. Nonetheless it tasted great and the soup they served was good too. Their menu offering is quite limited, but chicken is their expertise. Overall great value for the price.

Come for their affordable lunch menu. Our favorite is the Chicken Breast Nanban. The dinner menu is completely different.

Overall a great and one-of-a-kind experience in winter. Chicken shabu-shabu. If you like organs and bone broth then you can try mizu-taki. The chawanmushi is enriched with chicken broth. The staff is extremely polite and made sure we are taken care of. I will come back if I stay in Shibuya again

After a couple of days of Wagyu & Ramen & Sushi, this is the perfect place to rest my very-Asian stomach. Pure chicken stock shabu-shabu with quality chicken meat and tasty appetizers, I can’t ask for more.

A Japanese chicken cuisine restaurant with various chicken dishes. There’s hotpot, karaage, salads, skewers etc. pretty delicious but slightly pricey imo for what you get. The TKG at the end definitely could have used a little more flavor.
